What is a Parent/Teacher Association (PTA)?

What is the School Leadership Team (SLT)?


The School Leadership Team (SLT) is a collaborative group of individuals who work together to shape our school’s educational direction. This team includes the principal, the PA/PTA president, the UFT chapter leader, and elected parents and staff members. Sometimes, students and community representatives are also part of the SLT.

What Does the SLT Do?

  1. Policy Development: The SLT helps create educational policies and goals for our school.
  2. Monthly Meetings: The team meets monthly to discuss and evaluate school programs, budget, and overall culture.
  3. Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP): The SLT develops and updates our school’s CEP, which outlines our vision, mission, and priorities for student achievement.
  4. Feedback and Advocacy: The SLT provides valuable feedback to the principal and district superintendent, ensuring that our school’s needs are addressed.
